SHAWN REDWOOD

Shawn Redwood has been teaching EFL for 8 years. He is a Teacher Trainer for the Department of Education of the Autonomous Community of Madrid and an English Language Assistant at Nuestro Señora de Loreto School in Madrid. He has also worked at CEIP Federico García Lorca, Espiritu Santo School and San Saturio School. Shawn’s principal areas of interest are bilingual and international education. His speciality is implementing authentic material in the classroom as an integral part of the curriculum.

PATRICIA BERGSTRÖM

Founder and General Manager of Inspirations Motivation and Language Learning Centre, and of Inspirations Language Coaching, based in the south of Gran Canaria, Spain, Patricia has been working in language teaching  for more than 16 years and in teacher training for more than 14 years. She holds an MA in Modern Languages from the University of St.Andrews, Scotland and an MA TESOL from ULPGC, while also being a trained Laughing Therapist and more recently certified by ELC and ICF as a Language Coach. Patricia’s main areas of interest are Motivation, Bilingualism and how to enhance the learning experience and outcome. She is currently working on ways to make teaching and learning more effective by using aspects taken from other seemingly unrelated areas, such as laughing therapy and natural horsemanship.

MAITE MOLINA

Maite Molina has been teaching for more than 25 years in Madrid; Los Angeles, California; Charlotte, North Carolina and now in Gran Canaria. During this time, she has taught both in English and in Spanish all levels from 5 yrs old onwards. She is now the Head of the Modern Languages Department at Colegios Arenas. She has also been giving different talks and workshops to teachers in both, USA and in Spain.

DAVID BRADSHAW

Responsible for the design and supervision of a bilingual programme in a group of three schools in Madrid. Development of programmes for the different levels of the school. Organisation of the Cambridge exams in the three schools.David Bradshaw has been teaching in bilingual education for over 20 years, in addition to working as a speaking examiner for the University of Cambridge exams.  His main interests are the teaching of writing in both Primary and Secondary and the preparation of Cambridge exams.

NINA LAUDER

Nina Lauder  has been teaching at all levels since 1990 and for the past twelve years has been involved in educational consulting and teacher training. She has given workshops all over Spain and abroad. She is a materials writer for ELT and CLIL books and has published several articles. She is the co-author of Explorers 3 and 4 (OUP) and the co-author of Natural Science and Social Science material for the Think-Do-Learn series (OUP). She currently works as a freelance author, teacher trainer, educational consultant and editor of the Oxford Magazine for Pre-Primary and Primary Teachers. SPEAKERS

SAMANTHA LEWIS

Samantha Lewis is an ELT teacher, trainer and materials writer based in Madrid. She teaches young learners for the British Council in Somosaguas, Madrid and is author of Interactive, Cambridge University Press’s four-level course for lower-secondary students. She has trained primary and secondary school teachers of English and has an MA specializing in English Language Teaching in secondary schools.

​IGOR GAVILAN

He holds a B.A in English and is qualified in pedagogical skills by the University of Deusto, Bilbao. He is currently a lecturer, an EFL teacher, executive Board Member of the Basque Association of English Teachers, BETEA, a translator and director of his own  language school. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of TESOL-SPAIN, article-writer, didactic poster designer and presenter of workshops in several cities. First prize for both poster competitions held in Paris (2009 & 2012). In 2013 he presented in: Athens, Canary Islands, Hamburg, Paris and Rome. In 2014 he presented in Athens for TESOL-GREECE.

MICHAEL LORD

Head and teacher of English at the EOI de Santa Mª de Guía, he has taught English as a first, second and foreign language, Literature in English, and Drama, and has given many educational workshops to teachers of modern languages in the Canaries. Having taught at inner-city schools in England, International British and American schools in Spain and now at the EOI, he is able to draw from this wide range of experience, and hopes to spread his enthusiasm for this profession.

​VERÓNICA DURANTE

Profesora especializada en Inteligencias Múltiples en la escuela y en Prácticas sociales de Lectura y Escritura (sobre todo en infantil y primaria), Verónica Durante ha trabajado como asesora externa en el Programa Infancia para la Consejería de Educación de Canarias y es Directora de Educares, consultora de Desarrollo en Educación, donde trabaja como asesora en diversos temas como Creatividad en el aula, IM en la escuela y Prácticas Sociales de lectura y escritura.

​DONNA FIELDS

Donna is a professor at the International University of Valencia, specializes ingiving magisterial        on-line classes, has a doctorate in Spanish Literature,is a teacher trainer for the Department of Education in Valencia, and isthe coordinator for the on-line English courses at the Diputación of Valencia. She has taught primary, secondary andadult classes in public and private schools both in the United States and in Spain, gives private English classes, and is currently collaborating on a book which show cases CLIL methodology in the theater.

 

​KATIE CURBELO

 

Katie Curbelo has been teaching English in schools and academies for over 25 years. She has also worked as a Centre Exams Manager and speaking examiner for Cambridge during this time. She is an experienced teacher trainer, writing and presenting seminars for Cambridge together with teaching materials for websites and coursebooks.

​LIAM FITZPATRICK

 

Originally from Ireland, Liam graduated with a BA in Social Sciences with La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Based in Spain since 1994, he has also completed post-graduate studies in TESOL with Aston University in the UK and has accumulated more than 15 years experience in the field of ELT. Liam currently works both “in & out” of the classroom for Express Publishing.
